While Grognak, Elise Pensri slept while Narkareth & Cola kept last watch in now scorched sentries room. Late into the night Narkareth was mental confronted with the psychic pinging from the alarm spell he placed on the south entrance of the room. Narkareth & Cola quickly rallied their sleeping companies for what new horrors were encroaching into there safe haven. As the entrance door to the south suddenly opened Narkareth took action by pushing the old door swiftly shut and pining a small halfling. The party quickly questioned the halfling to determine his loyalty to the Temple of Elemental Evil. Alton Underbough the Halfling told the party of lust for adventure and quickly became Allied with the party.
With the party well rested and now one party member stronger they quickly shard information on what they knew about the The Ruins of the Moathouse & the Temple so far.
The party quickly decided that it would be in there best interest to go back over part of the way that Alton Underbough had made his way into this level of the Temple. After makeing much of his way sneaking around in the Temple in the dark Alton Underbough could not recall all that he had explored.
The party as a hole decided to explore deeper into the Temple why allowing Alton Underbough to lead the way keeping an eye out for any pitfalls they could encounter.
The party found its way into two areas of the Temple that appeared to be unused for many years and that housed much of the Temple’s weaponry or so they hope. Why carefully searching the room the Grognak found Magic Crossbow Bolt. Why searching the other amory Alton Underbough & Narkareth found a lose floor tile below a old weapon blare. After careful examination Alton Underbough found what he suspected to be a poison arrow dart trap. Alton Underbough made quick work of deactivating the trap and retrieved a small masterwork box containing an Assassin Dager, Ring of the Mist & Decomposing Scroll of Resurrection.
The party waited and rested why Narkareth Identify some of the newly required treasure. The party then moved north words deeper into the the Temple. As the party traveled north they made their way into a large 70′ × 30′ chamber with many columns rising 40’ over head sporting the room. There was a foul fecal odor and with filth scattered here and there on the floor. Upon entering the chamber the party set off a portcullis trap closing off the only exit and isolating Cola The Panther from the party. During the commotion of the portcullis Grognak was waylaid by a Harpys siren song but was unaffected by them
After some light combat and some exhaustive search Alton Underbough found a Secret door that he was unable to open from this chamber. The party worked together to open the portcullis to liberate Cola, but was unsuccessful in permanently raising the portcullis. However they did manage to allow Cola to slide under the portcullis but the last seconds lost their grip and dug a long furrough into Cola with the portcullis descent. The party unable to open the secret door the party tried the south east door. This lead into a bone pit that was actual a ghoul den. The walls of the room had many different pegs with old tattered clothing hanging from them. After defeating the ghouls the party searched the room and bone pile for hidden and secret door. Grognak found an odly light shirt of elf sized chainmail. After much study Narkareth determined that the armorer is Mithril Chainmail.
Why Narkareth spent many hours Identifying all of the party’s newly acquired magical items the party tried to rest up from its long hours of combat and Temple exploration.
After Narkareth many hours of studying the party determined that the possibility for any Secret entrances in this room was unlikely they head back into the fouled chamber and attempted to explore the room to the north. As the adventuring party opened the door to the north they were prepared for mischief so they did not find them self surprised when more ghouls crawled out there bone pit den. Narkareth quickly doust the unholy occupants of the pit in Great fire setting them ablaze like rocking candles and making short work of the undead fiends.
